The Renewable Energy client is looking for a Document Controller to work on an offshore wind farm. This role is to start ASAP and will be on a 3 year contract until end of 2019. The Document Controller will support the Document Manager.

Description:

The Document Controller is responsible for the correct approval, distribution and uploading of project relevant document and e-mails into project's DMS (Document Management System). The Document Controller undertakes document classification, document archiving, document quality checks and maintenance the completeness of document register or database/s.
He/she is responsible for assuring its consistently used by internal and external members as well as by external contractors and for the quality standards of the project documentation.
The Document Controller co-ordinates the document workflow between the different packages and towards the contractors for detailed engineering and construction engineering projects, including in-house generated documents. The Document Controller is responsible for the preparation of project reports or meeting notes, as may be required, and provide training to project team and contractors in area of responsibility in matters of document control.

Also for ensuring structures are compliant with Company's standards and regulations and support the acceptance for internal and external project reviews, certifications and such a like.

Scope Deliverables:
  • Control, verification and improvement of document related workflows, eg review of technical documentation, handling of certification, hand over to authorities.
  • Insurance of the quality of the contractor's documentation in respect to the project's standards.
  • Insurance of the compliance of the project's document control to company standards and regulations.
  • Basic administration and maintenance of the project's DMS in terms of users, user groups, access rights, updates and others.
  • Maintenance and improvement of DMS related manuals and templates.
  • Communication with other company offshore projects to ensure standardisation and lessons learned.
  • All relevant project documents are stored in a safely and logical manner with easy and quick access. The structure is self-explaining.
  • Support in create the operational Manual (the German Verfahrensdokumentation).

DMS Service requirements:

  • Minimum of three (3) years experiences in DMS systems and/or document control in general.
  • Good understanding of workflows and project team work.
  • Basic understanding of Engineering/Procurement/Construction/Commissioning documents.
  • Ability to structure and handle complex processes and visualise them clearly.
  • Good communication, presentation and planning skills.
  • Confident manner, motivated and positive nature.
  • Knowledge of written and spoken German and English.
  • Willingness to occasional travels and ability to work in a dynamic paced environment.
  • Competence in standard software packages, eg Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint
Offshore Knowledge requirements:
  • Experience in project documentation in Onshore/Offshore projects
  • Good understanding of technical/engineering documentation knowledge in Onshore/Offshore projects (electrotechnical background)
