Great opportunity for a Solution Architect to work for a large international telecommunications vendor with offices in Germany and throughout Western Europe.
The Solution Architect, part of the Data Centre Integration Service, is responsible for working with customers at a high level to obtain their requirements and present the appropriate solutions. Then leading the solution team to devise and implement a data centre solution including IT infrastructure design, cloud integration or data centre consolidation/migration.
Responsibilities:
- Perform in-depth study and analysis of IT services for western Europe region
- Medium to high level customer interface, obtain customer's requirements and present the best solution
- Based on customer's requirements, leading a solution team to devise a data centre solution, including IT infrastructure integration, cloud integration or data centre consolidation/migration
- In the pre-sales stage, leading a solution team to analysis customer's RFP, devise a solution architecture, estimate total cost and risk
- In the delivery stage, working as a technical director, guides the solution team to make the design, implementation, commission, test and acceptance.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in one or several of the following competence areas -
IT/Cloud Architecture Integration Experience -
- DC management & orchestration, architectural knowledge of orchestration/virtualisation tools and concepts: Open stack, VMware vCenter hands-on experience
- Cloud integration: Public Cloud, Private Cloud, Hybrid Cloud
- IT Infrastructure Integration: Network & Security, Storage & Backup, OS, Database
- Familiar with Operator's Applications is preferred: OSS, BSS, CRM, ERP, OA etc
- Familiar with Operator's architectures is preferred: ITIL, eTOM
DC Consolidation and Migration Methodology and Experience -
- DC Consolidation plan and wave design experiences
- Application migration
- System Migration: P2V, V2V, UNIX to X86.
- Data/Database Migration: Oracle, DB2, MySQL, SQL Server migrate to each other
- Storage Migration: EMC, NetApp, HP, HDS
Candidates for this role will also -
- Be open minded with good relationship building skills and have excellent cross-functional communication skills, spanning organisations and continents. Have outstanding analytical, motivation, and team work capability, with the flexibility to adapt to changes and pressures
- Have an understanding both of the telecommunications industry and IT service market
- Have excellent oral and written English, other additional European languages are highly desirable
- Be willing to travel within Western Europe at least 50% of the time.
The role is fixed for two years initially but there is a very good possibility this will become permanent employment after that.
