My client is looking to hire an experienced structural/Mechanical Engineer with expert knowledge of prototype engineering and technical skills that include thermal and mechanical/structural design of steam and gas turbines, compressors and pumps.
This position requires a strong background in Design, Stress analysis and Fatigue & Fracture Mechanics. Specific knowledge in Structural Analysis of gas turbines, casing design and analysis is an advantage. The applicant performs structural design changes of various turbomachinery components such as bearings, shafts, rotors, casing, valves, impellers, etc. This position involves close interaction with aero-thermal, mechanical design and CAD team to design state of the art prototype turbomachinery components, redesign existing components to meet design requirements.
The candidate will also be responsible for optimising internal processes and cost reduction procedures, selecting and investigating materials for use in specific applications.
Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience
- In-depth knowledge of Gas Turbines from either aerospace, industrial or other backgrounds
- 6+ years of Structure/Design experience in CFD in UX or other commercial CAD &CAE packages is required.
- Knowledge of prototype design is of advantage
- At least 3 years professional experience in major gas Turbine OEM, including GE, Siemens, Alstom, Rolls Royce & etc.
