Derzeit sucht das Team der KEOS Software Service GmbH für einen Kunden:SCOM Engineer (w/m)
Overview of Role:
The client utilizes a highly integrated and complex global infrastructure which is generating more than 40,000 monitoring tickets per year. With several hundred management packs, self-developed as also supplied by manufacturers, various server hardware platforms, server operating system versions and middleware and application platforms are monitored.
Complex interconnections of a worldwide, agent-based cluster of applications with almost real-time data banks in the background and several interfaces have to be mastered.
This role is to provide second and third-level support for Windows & SCOM. This includes the day-to-day operation and administration of SCOM and various other systems involved in the monitoring, management and reporting of the client’s server environment. This includes, but is not limited to:
-SCOM core infrastructure
-Agent management
-Alert enhancement
-Operation of SCOM and connectors, including SQL reporting and integration
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
-Develop, maintain and troubleshoot complex set of monitors for hardware and software
-Perform administrative tasks from the Operation Manager console, provide application support for the SCOM platform and create and maintain monitoring and notification rules
-Deployment of management packs
-Troubleshooting of misconfigured or malfunctioning monitoring and Operations Manager infrastructure issues
-Evaluate emerging technologies to ensure technical solutions are compatible with the Company's business needs and strategic objectives
-Provide technical expertise, guidance and strategic recommendations with regard to monitoring metrics and thresholds
-Functional working and debugging knowledge of Microsoft Windows, VMware ESX operating systems and applications
-Review and update SCOM console security, apply patches, create SCOM console roles and reviews, and create and install custom management packs as needed
Key Skills:
-Displays good verbal and written language skills in both German and English
-Experience working with international multilingual teams
-Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) 2012 R2 deployment, administration, configuration, troubleshooting, & maintenance
-Hands on technical experience deploying and supporting Operations Manager 2012 R2 in a large enterprise environment
-Solid experience in application and server performance and availability monitoring
-Experience using the Microsoft Windows PowerShell scripting engine to automate tasks with SCOM
-Experience with System Center Orchestrator
-Knowledge of server virtualization technologies, preferably VMware and/or Microsoft technologies
Qualifications:
•Preferably Windows, SCOM, or VMware Certifications
Work Experience:
•Minimum 8 years’ tenure as a System Administrator with extensive experience supporting and troubleshooting Wintel & SCOM.
