For our client in Munich we are looking for an experienced Database Engineer (m/f).Summary:
• Reporting to the technical manager, the database engineer configures, develops, implements and integrates database platforms for customers products and solutions in customer projects.
• This comprises implementation activities, testing, deployment, administration, improvement initiatives (for produccts), documentation and also training, if applicable.
• Focus is on cross-solution datbase implementation and initiatives to streamline best practices on database platforms for customers products
Duties and Responsibilities:
• DB Expert is an expert in database development, configuration and administration as well as in the field of G&D software products like Imago, BCS (Border Control) and IPS.
• Specification of DB deployment planning, DB structure, sizing, performance and synchronization
• Deployment and testing of DB infrastructure
• Delivers architecture of databases (focus on Oracle)
• Installation of Database Software and Database Instance (s) (for Oracle: Oracle Universal Installer, Oracle
• Database Configuration Assistant
• Database Access and Networking (Oracle: Oracle Net Configuration Assistant, Listener Control Utility)
• Database Administration (Oracle: Oracle Enterprise Manager Database Control / Grid Control)
• Problem diagnosis (with Oracle: Alerts, AWR reports, other advisor tools)
• Security (users, roles, profiles, privileges)
• Backup and Recovery (at Oracle: essentially RMAN)
• Data modeling (different variants of tables, indexes, etc.)
• Data access and processing (for Oracle: SQL and PL / SQL using triggers and jobs, tools: SQL * Plus, SQL Developer)
• Data exchange, e.g. via external files (Oracle: Oracle Data Pump Export / Import, SQL * Loader, etc.)
• Programming in PL / SQL (procedures, functions, packages, triggers, types, external procedures, objects, collections, exceptions)
• Performance Tuning
• Distributed Databases (Oracle: Database Links, Streaming, Advanced Replication)
Requirements and qualifications:
• Proven work experience (4-5 years) as a database engineer, developer and or administrator
• Experience in designing and implementing databases for platform solutions for applications
• Experience in adaption and configuration of database systems
• Excellent knowledge of server technologies, relational databases, data exchange, distributed databases
• Experience with test methodology (component test / integration test / system test)
• Ability to document requirements and specifications
• Good written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills in German and English
• A degree in Computer science would be preferred
