For our international client in Düsseldorf, we are currently looking for an expert who can help the client with their selection process of a new Vendor for the Mobile Application Development Platform.
Start: ASAP
Duration: 4 months
Location: Düsseldorf
Remote: partly possible
Volume: 1-2 days per week
Project background:
The overall target is to start an official vendor selection where they choose the best platform that offer immediate business value. The Mobile Application Development Platform should offer rapid mobile app development capabilities that range from creating simple, standalone mobile only apps to sophisticated transactional apps with integration to enterprise data and workflows. The mobile application development platform directly contributes to the client's strategy by: 1) Driving innovation and the digital transformation, 2) reduce time-to-market for mobile apps, and 3) Improve Business process agility.
Tasks of External Expert:
- Define business requirements for mobile application developments
- Current business drivers for mobile apps
- Current use cases within the business (manufacturing, supply chain, finance etc.)
- Define technical requirements for mobile application developments
- The platform must be connectable with existing Mobility operation systems (EBF Connector, Incapptic, MobileIron, MIDA, Lookout)
- Define architecture requirements considering following points:
- The platform must be connectable with the core systems (CRM, ERP etc.) and cloud services (mainly SaaS)
- For authentication and access standard systems must be connected (AD/MyID + ADFS)
- The platform must provide a baseline for further future topics eg IoT
- Consideration of the maturity of the platforms to have maximum flexibility for the future
- Evaluate suitable platforms/providers for the client
- Assess the answers by the providers during the tool selection (incl. Proof of concept)
- Make a final recommendation for the client's future mobile app platform
- Draft a Governance Model for future mobile app developments
Required Skills
- At least 2 - 3 Mobile Application Development Platform projects with other bigger enterprises and known providers in this area, eg Kony, Mendix, Capriza.
- Enterprise Architecture background to get a quick picture of the client's infrastructure set-up
- Overview of generic MADP platforms requirements and future trends
- Background on following Mobility capabilities:
- High-productivity app development tool (mandatory)
- Professional development integrated development environment (optional)
- Software development kits for third-party development tools (mandatory)
- Core mobile app services (push, offline, location, etc.) - (optional)
- Mobile API creation and mediation (connectors or adaptors to on-premises systems and cloud based applications) - (mandatory - no expert, generic knowledge)
- Mobile testing support (optional)
- Mobile Back End services (MBS) (mandatory)
- Development skills on native (IOS/Android) native SDKs or other open source tools (mandatory - no expert, generic knowledge)
- Web programming languages eg JavaScript (mandatory)
