Smallworld Application Manager

A large telecommunications company are seeking an Application Manager to configure, test and maintain a physical inventory system for geodata (physical networks). The overall project is to be migrated from the current Physical Inventory System to Smallworld PNI.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the Physical Inventory System (Implementation, Monitoring, SPOC).
  • Creation of concepts, definition of technical specifications and their implementation
  • Editing configurations and change requests.
  • Implementation and support of quality tests (ORT/UAT).
  • Coordination and control of external partners in an international environment (therefore very good knowledge of English is important!)

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Completed studies with a focus on IT, network engineering or similar, alternatively relevant training with corresponding long-term project experience.
  • Knowledge of the software "Smallworld PNI" and programming (in Magik).
  • Experience in the software FME Workbench and at best the import and export into the Smallworld PNI.
  • Experience in dealing with geodata and topological networks.
  • Experience in process optimization and analysis of software adaptations as well as in the creation of specifications.
  • Very good database (SQL, Oracle DB) as well as optional programming skills in connection with these DBs.
  • Understanding of system architecture (interfaces to other systems and their dependencies).
  • Fluent in English and German
