One of our clients who is the largest online vehicle trade site in Germany, is looking to bring on a big data developer to join their Berlin office for a 6 month rolling contract. They want someone who has expert usage with SCALA and with BigData technologies. The company is reinforcing its market leading position by undertaking major initiatives to extend the value they add to their customers.
For the Data team, they're looking for a passionate Data Engineer, to leverage data to connect their buyers and sellers. The Data team focuses on building products based on data insights.
They want you to;
* Design scalable architectures for Real Time and batch data processing with Scala
* Successfully partner with data scientists to support building advanced data products based on Big Data technology and implement their models
* Successfully partner with system operators to design data generation and provisioning architectures.
* Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data
* Help to build a healthy, sustainable and scalable data infrastructure
* Be passionate about building scalable products using Big Data with Scala
You should;
* Ideally already worked on creating a Real Time data infrastructure for Big Data processing
* Have 3+ years of related work experience
* A background with NoSQL databases (eg Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB) as well as SQL databases
* Proficiency with Scala and Python or Java as well as experience with large-scale software systems and architectures.
* Desire to quickly learn new technologies and adopt tools that fit a problem best
* Being hands-on, resourceful and a doer. Able to work autonomously but also operate as part of a strong, cohesive team
*Team-spirit and strong personality
* Strong communication skills
* Fluent English (German is a plus)
