Role OverviewOur global telecoms client is setting-up an innovative software defined network (SDN) infrastructure with one of the main industry leaders. The solution is based on Cisco ACI and will interconnect three large Data Centres offering e2e connectivity for thousands of customers.
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to support in the development of workflows to enable infrastructure and network orchestration. Initially you will work with Engineering and Operations teams to analyse and define the required workflows. You will then be required to develop, test and implement these workflows into the orchestration engine. This role is within an Agile delivery team.
Desired Technical Skills and Experience
Strong network background - DC centric (network design, virtual network functions, dynamic routing protocols, FW, LB)
Experience with Cisco components (Cisco routers, switches)
Experience with Cisco UCSD (nice to have)
Experience with workflow coding
Strong Java and Python coding skills
Experience of automated unit testing mapped to scenarios
Experience defining a development framework for testing automation
Experience and understanding of Agile development & Kanban
Knowledge of Jira / Confluence or similar
Strong documentation skill-sets

Comfortable working closely with stakeholders and confident communicating at all levels
Tenacious problem solver who will own issues until full resolution
Keen to learn new technologies and techniques
Confident in designing robust, elegant and efficient solutions from scratch
