You support an agile media company with start-up culture to establish in the German markets.Your new job is located in the city of Berlin.
Your responsibilities as Release Manager
Plan the future release schedule for the customers system
Coordinate all release content and all release activities based on the change request backlog, pending change requests, customer take-on projects, new product development project, third party applications, and operating system updates
Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes
Coordinate work between different teams at different locations
Conduct Release Readiness Reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go Reviews
Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
Measure and monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget
Weekly Release Status Reporting
Produce deployment, run books and implementation plans
Work with systems developers to understand impacts of branches and code merges
Maintain the release schedule for all core services and ensure alignment across key partners and vendors
Continually work towards making improvements in the release process
Internally lead and co-ordinate the Go-Live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and checklists
Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to various platforms
Participate in CAB meetings to discuss release scope and/or roadblocks
Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyse their application to current configuration management needs
Additional tasks Technical Project Manager (optionally)
Cooperate with internal and external stakeholders, assuring the successful delivery of new functionalities is on schedule and within the budget
Work with project sponsors, project managers and product managers to define success criteria and metrics
Lead and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles
Lead the planning and implementation of technical projects across multiple departments, incl. supervision of software designers, developers, progress monitoring and delivery
Analyse new business requirements and change requests against current systems capability
Identify solution alternatives and trade-offs
Adhere to technical standards, continuous improvement of best practices
Your skills
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum 2 years of previous release management experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in information systems operations environment, systems analysis or development
Formal training in and experience with project management practices are preferred
Advanced knowledge of software development lifecycle
Experience from working in agile development teams as well as experience from system development in different environments and languages is an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to facilitate resolution of issues
Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
Excellent spoken and written English.
