Our client, a global leading telecommunication company are recruiting for a Senior Researcher / Senior Software Expert to join their business in Germany.

Responsibilities:
- The Senior Researcher or Senior Software Expert will have a significant role in architecting network OS, controller and orchestration for 5G IP carrier network with the following main responsibilities:
- Investigating and identifying the actual requirements for 5G IP carrier network, interact with experts in HQ and in the broader industry
- Defining the software architecture of network OS, controller and orchestration for 5G IP carrier network that will include all aspects of network function components and control plane meeting the requirements of DFx (high performance, high availability, high scalability and high maintainability etc.);
- Identifying key technologies of software system and the associated features and software modules, and to define external interfaces; to lead an elite team to develop POC(s)

Qualifications:
- PhD in CS/EE is preferred; 5+ years experiences in IP communication area
- Background of mobile networks and carrier network architecture
- Strong software architect and development experience and track record demonstrated by product, open source contribution, patent, publication and issued standards; In depth knowledge in OS kernel, distributed systems, and virtualization technologies
- Familiar with IP networking technologies TCP/IP,MPLS/VPN network monitoring, routing protocols and algorithms
- Familiar with SDN/NFV, ONOS and OpenDaylight, Openstack, TOSCA etc.
- Familiar with network algorithms, graph theory, linear/dynamic programming, heuristics, local optimization techniques, etc.
- Familiar with QoS/QoE, context-aware networks and services, etc.
- Experience with simulation tools, such as ns-3, OPNET, Matlab, etc.
- Strong publication record in top-tier conferences and journals, e.g. Transactions, Network Magazine, Infocom, Globecom, etc.
- Team player, good verbal and writing communication skill, bilingual preferred
- Can travel to China few times per year
