Data Architect - Germany based
Prestigious Germany based client requires an accomplished Data Architect to join their Data Warehouse Team. The Data Architect will work across the disparate BI platforms (Oracle Exadata and SQL) and contribute to improving processes and governance across the regions, due to acquisitions. There is flexibility across several Germany locations. The Data Architect will recommend a roadmap to move away from Legacy RMDBS and standardize on new technologies like Hadoop. Provides thought leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques, including data modelling, data access, data integration, data visualization, data governance, data discovery, data security, database design and implementation. Works with team to define the data warehouse strategy roadmap for the enterprise; including data modelling, implementation and data management for an enterprise data warehouse and advanced data analytics systems, as well as associated governance, recovery, and security approaches
*Provides thought leadership in the area of integrating traditional RDBMS environments with analytic environments designed for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data.
*Works with staff and customers to understand the business requirements and business processes, design high level data warehouse schema and define extract-transform-load (ETL) and/or extract-load-transform (ELT) processes for DWH.
The start date for this role is February 2017 and the initial role will be for 6-8 weeks.
Requirements
*Data Architect
*Data architecture
*German speaker, strongly preferred
*Knowledge of receivables management industry, a plus
*Extensive expertise in Oracle, SQL 2012, and SQL 2016 databases, as well as data modelling, both logical and physical.
*Oracle Exadata
*RMDBS experience/Relational database architecture
*Extensive Oracle relational database experience essential
*Datawarehousing
*Extensive experience in multidimensional data modelling, such as star schemas, snowflakes, normalized and de-normalized models, handling "slow-changing" dimensions/attributes
*Experience with data warehouse strategy and deployment across multiple countries
*Experience with Microstrategy BI tool
*Experience with data science tools (eg R, SPSS, SAS) preferred, but not essential
*Experience with Hadoop preferred, but not essential
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Outstanding verbal, written and visual presentation skills.
*Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
*Structured thinker and effective communicator, comfortable with interacting with customers.
*Extensive experience providing practical direction on information and analytics platforms in conjunction with EDW tools and technologies
