To support and administer all IBM Power servers running the AIX UNIX operating system, to achieve service availability as defined in the SLA?s ensuring integrity is maintained at all times.Provide support to the UNIX Operations Team maintaining delivery and support of services, ensuring the security of all systems.

Unix ++++ (excellent), > 4 yrs.
SuSE +++ (good), 2-4 yrs.
RedHat +++ (good), 2-4 yrs.
Oracle ++ (trained), 1-2 yrs.
TCP/IP +++ (good), 2-4 yrs.
DNS +++ (good), 2-4 yrs.
ITIL +++ (good), 2-4 yrs.
- Experience in implementing, upgrading and supporting/administering AIX systems in an enterprise environment (including AIX6, AIX7)
- IBM Power7 and Power8 technology
- IBM Power Systems virtualisation technologies
- Unix security, particularly how to configure systems to meet a companies corporate security standards
- The development, maintenance and delivery of build images, including experience of using the automated image deployment mechanism
- AIX Performance analysis and tuning
- Demonstrate a competent understanding of the AIX architecture
- Shell scripting
- Competent ?vi? editor user
- TCP/IP and DNS
- Basic understanding of ORACLE databases and SAP systems
- Investigation and resolution of user problems
- Identification and exploitation of cost saving and/or service improvement opportunities
- Effective knowledge transfer skills
- Excellent interpersonal and customer skills, confident communicator and team player.
- The ability to manage and own issues, small and large, on behalf of the department and work unaided to support systems during agreed support hours
- Very good German and English skills
