The project, involves testing data flow applications and supporting applications for both optical and radio telescopes

The work involves the analysis, design, preparation and execution of both manual and automated testing.

In addition the test results are to be analysed and root causes identified.

Essential skills:

  • A minimum of three years professional experience in software testing including requirements analysis and clarification, as well as testing web applications and GUIs
  • Excellent knowledge of Scripting languages such as Python, Groovy, UNIX Shell
  • Very good knowledge of testing of dynamic web applications, including Javascript-centric single page applications
  • Significant experience with relational databases and designing SQL queries
  • Basic experience in testing tools like Selenium and/or QF-Test
  • Exposure to configuration management tools, preferably SVN

Desired skills:

  • Knowledge of Unit test frameworks like Junit or TestNG
  • Knowledge of software testing techniques (equivalence partition, combinatorial, pair-wise, boundary conditions, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Java and Javascript
  • Exposure to issue management systems, and continuous integration systems (eg Jenkins)

The work will start in January 2017 for a minimum of 3 years (possibly 5 years) duration. The working location is Munich, Germany. The working language is English.
