We currently have a vacancy for a "Technical Project Manager to lead the implementation of Document Management System and Intranet based on SharePoint", to offer his/her services within a renowned international Institution in Bonn/Germany.
Our client is an international Organisation with HQs in Bonn, employing approximately 70 staff members, and a number of international consultants. Staff members and consultants are based in one of the 5 offices of the client, with the headquarters in Bonn, Germany. The nature of the work of staff members requires frequent communications and knowledge sharing across units and office locations.
To facilitate and improve internal communications and knowledge sharing the client intends to implement one common document management system, based on SharePoint, which will also function as an Intranet.
Tasks & Responsibilities
In close cooperation with the client staff for Knowledge Systems and ICT, the incumbent will perform the following duties and responsibilities:
- Document business requirements, and ensure these are aligned with out-of-the-box functionality (SharePoint 2013, with minimum or no customization);
- Advise on technical architecture for SharePoint solution (on premise or online); based on industry standards;
- Prepare documentation for functional requirement and design;
- Advise on staffing requirements and vendor selection for technical implementation of the SharePoint solution;
- Advise on licensing options for the SharePoint Solution including MS-SQL;
- Document business and system processes, test plans, etc., and provide documentation and manuals, in line with industry standards, for the developed implementation and all other tasks performed;
- Provide input on CLIENT document management and archiving policies, in line with technical implementation of the document management system;
- Advise, guide and support staff in the migration of documents from Legacy systems.
Skills and Experience
- Expert technical knowledge in Microsoft SharePoint 2013, with at least five years of experience in SharePoint solution design and architecture processes including MS-SQL;
- Project Management Skills, with at least five years in Document Management projects;
- Experience with leading the software delivery life cycle, including production test and release management processes;
- Experience in setting up documentation standards at all levels, including solution design level, and at a configuration/customization level;
- Solid background working on complex projects;
- University degree in computer science, information systems, or a relevant field is desirable;
- Experience in and understanding of the dynamics of an intergovernmental process would be an asset;
- Fluency in English is a necessity.
Expected outcomes of the project
- A fully implemented document management system and Intranet, using SharePoint;
- Full technical implementation, including hardware, software, and maintenance procedures, according to industry standards;
DURATION
The consultant is expected to be based at the clients premises in Bonn, Germany, under the supervision of the Programme Officer, Knowledge systems. The expected duration of this consultancy is five months (full time, unless otherwise agreed) starting August 2016, with an option of extension.
