Optical/Transmission Engineer
Eschborn/Stuttgart, Düsseldorf
3 months+ contract
Key Responsibilities
- Technical interface for WDM rollout
- Audit site before migration to WDM overlay network
- Ensure WDM rollout requirement for installation, DCN setting, commissioning, documentation in first line and second line
- Support partner for installation, especially commissioning and documentation
- Bit error rate and RFC2544 measurements, troubleshooting (company provides measurement equipment)
- Ensure FTI first time right for deployment >95%
- Subcontractor training and certification
- If necessary Network Back Office integration in TOZ Düsseldorf
- Quality control management
Qualifications
- Good practical experience in Optical WDM deployment and commissioning
- Familiar with Deutsche Telekom and/or Vodafone processes and WDM deployment
- Very good knowledge of Networking Technologies such as CWDM, DWDM, ROADM, OTN
- Good knowledge of fiber/OSNR/PMD/Dispersion
- Very good knowledge at least one WDM vendor Koherent, Ciena, ADVA, Ericsson, ECI, preferred Huawei OSN1800 series
- Basic knowledge Ethernet, TCP/IP, OSPF
- Good communication spoken and written in German, technical conversation in English
- Business travel (40-60%) around Germany, car driving license
