My client is looking for a Senior BI/BW Solution Architect for a long-term project based in Basle.



The Position

The Solution Architect –SAP BI/BW (Business Warehouse) will join the Global Procurement Analytics & Reporting team and will work on developing further and optimizing the existing Global Reporting solutions for Procurement.
Currently, there is a variety of reporting systems being used within the client and they have different source systems which shall all become one reporting system. The Solution Architect shall therefore summarize the current and future process in writing. He/She will be working together with and supporting another employee.

The position is based in Basel (Remote work would be possible once a week).

Start date for this position is 4th January (latest is 11th January) and planned finish date is June 30th 2016.


The candidate will:
• Deliver new solutions, design & deploy enhancements to existing solution.
• Communicate concepts, plans and information clearly and concisely to team management
• Significantly contribute to the project, enhancements, and maintenance of the application
• Apply complex procedures and define solutions to meet business, customer and technical requirements and lead the resolution of complex problems
The ideal candidate has experience working in a multi-cultural, global (not co-located) work team, and supporting multi-time zone user communities. This role requires excellent communication skills with both business and technical teams.


Requirements:
• University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education and/or work experience in computer science, software engineering or similar field with:
o 10+ years of SAP BW experience with advance ABAP knowledge
o SAP R/3 experience (from a BI perspective) and advance knowledge in FI & MM (creating reports)
• Experience in applying design principles (business process design tools included) and of integration architecture principles within the targeted area of focus and solid experience in designing attractive reporting solutions optimized for ease of use
• Work experience in Procurement: Understanding of Procurement requirements and processes being able to translate them into a platform specific solution and system design
• Ability to demonstrate some project management or project coordination skills is desirable
• Skilled in problem/incident management, SLAs – Service Level Agreements
• Ability to contribute to multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. Must be a self-starter, results-oriented, able to work under pressure and have a track record of timely, high-quality deliverables
• A passion for data and understanding of the value it can create for the organization
• Excellent verbal/written communications skills in English; flexibility and commitment to customer service
• The role requires flexibility in work hours, as needed, to support a global user base
