Project Description
In April 2020 Munich Re released its first set of climate hazard scores as an extension to the NATHAN hazard and risk scores. The climate hazard scores are designed to be used for TCFD reporting. As well as risk management and business development where physical climate risk is a concern. In a second stage, Munich Re is expanding the scope of the climate scores to include the Financial Impacts of physical climate change on businesses, which is the focus of this project.

Task Description (= service description as in final offer)
Project manager to support the development of scientific models for the Financial Impacts of physical climate change within the general framework of TCFD. Including validation of models with key clients. As well as interfacing to the software development team for implementation.
Required working experience (in years)
Several years of experience managing R&D projects dealing with scientific data & models in a business context
Required skills and qualifications
Must have
Advanced degree in physical science or similar background. Used to working with modelers on complex interdisciplinary modelling projects and interacting with clients at leading global financial institutions
Nice to have
Experience in working in a FinTech environment. Some knowledge of physical climate models, risk modelling, financial risk modelling. Basic understanding of the financial system and risk management.
