The Product Development Department of the customer delivers international cross-organisational/
cross-functional voice and data services. Within Product Development a dedicated team of technical project managers provides project management services for the implementation of complex German as well as international projects.
The projects are mainly SW integration projects mainly in the area of mobile data services. This means technical requirements of a new service defined by marketing have to be analysed, a software solution has to be designed, developed by a supplier, tested by the customer and installed on HW by Operations. Smaller projects might just be technical changes to an existing system, like a release update.
The Technical Project Manager (TPM) has to make sure, that the technical solution is delivered in scope, time, budget and quality, working with team members from all relevant functions: Marketing, Product Design, Solution Design, Procurement, Operations, Testing, Security, Planning, etc. Projects are run based on the customer PM Handbook and the Product Introduction Process.
- Maintain the departmental database: e.g. project health check tracker
- Support the reporting procedure in PD7
- Working alongside project managers within the team to assist them manage larger projects;
defining the project scope and deliveries and ensuring these are all managed throughout the
project life-cycle
- Action & risk tracking
- Managing change control log
- Resource tracking
- Produce weekly reports and able to communicate effectively with project stakeholders (verbally,
email, presentations etc)
- Assisting with project health checks
Notwendige Kenntnisse:
- Mobile Data Service architecture
- Mobile Data Service AAA and charging architecture
- Background in Mobile Internet Access Optimization (Speed Proxy) on the network or the IT side is
required
- PC literate with a broad knowledge of windows based application (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PM Project)
- Understanding of key PM tools and techniques: planning, risk management, action tracking,
change control, communications (team meeting, steering boards, 3rd parties) and a good
understanding of a typical project life-cycle
- Good inter-personal and communication skills
- Confident in supporting a senior project or programme manager on large international projects
- Comfortable working with senior managers in Group Technology and dealing with other teams
- Problem solving - Motivated - Reliable (get things done)
- Fluent in German and English (verbally, written)
