System Safety Engineer – Aerospace – 3 months - GermanyWe are currently looking for a Systems Safety Engineer who will support or will be in charge of the safety assessment of aero engine control systems. The safety assessment is an integral part of the systems development process as well as of the system integration process until system certification.
Main Tasks:
-Review of system requirements for safety critical engine and control systems
-Cooperation with soft- and hardware engineers in integrated processing teams
-All steps of the system safety assessment as defined in project specific standards and standard SAE ARP 4761:
-Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)
-Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA) with definition of system safety requirements
-Failure Mode and Effect Analysis/Summary (FMEA/FMES)
-Single Event Effects (SEE/SEU) analysis
-Fault Tree Analysis
-Common Cause Analysis
-Creation of safety specific documentation according to guidelines
-Safety Assessment of system failures identified during reviews and testing
Qualifications:
-Degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering or aerospace engineering or equivalent
-Experience in the development of mechanical/electrical/electronic systems
-Experience in performing System Safety Assessments (SAE ARP 4761)
-Experience in processing control- and monitoring systems
-Basic knowledge in using development tools (eg RELEX, DOORS, Dimensions)
-Team-oriented
-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Fluent in English, knowledge of German beneficial
