Tätigkeitenbeschreibung
Für unseren Kunden in Köln suchen wir ab sofort einen System Engineer (m/w) im Mainframe Umfeld für die voraussichtliche Dauer von 10 Monaten.

Primary Tasks and responsibilities:
Batch Development following tasks:
• Manage the non-standard request queue
Monitor the arrival of new demands and update the status of the others
Determine the priority of the demand and drive or execute the processing of it
Perform the necessary client-communication on the status of the demand in order to anticipate on escalations
• Create JCL and Scripts
Create the necessary scripting based on the design
Test the scripts and perform the put into production
Ensure a proper version management of scripts
• With regards to standardization
Identify opportunities to standardize the processing of demands that are currently handled via the non-standard workflow
For solutions spanning multiple countries, the DE preferred standards have to be explained in a structured way (technical training) to the other country and arbitration has to be done in case of conflict of standard

Job Scheduling following tasks:
• With regards to “lights” on activities:
Perform all activities from the processing of the demands to the planning of jobs on all IS platforms
Give feedback to the clients of the Job Scheduling service regarding the processing of their demand
Deliver support during Releases and Applications Tests
Monitor the progress of planned tasks and solve Job Scheduling related incidents and problems
Respect and apply regulation rules like data protection and security
Build and update operational and technical documentation
Stand-by and work at weekends and bank-holidays
• With regards to projects:
Deliver Job Scheduling related information
Assure Operational Compliancy
Give advise best practise method
• With regards to the continuous quality-improvement
Identify and implement improvements that contribute to a quality-increase of our customer
Industrialisation of operational processes

Technical requirements
• Operational knowledge is required the following IT platforms: IBM Mainframe /
ZOS, Windows Server and Linux
to schedule tasks
to write scripts / JCL
to examine incidents and problems

TSO Being able to manage/edit different mainframe file formats
being able to use the command line
I/TWS being able to plan, modify, delete an application
OPC being able to manage the calendar
being able to access the LTP, daily planning, database OPC
being able to use ETT
SDSF being able to access the different spool JES2
being able to follow the management of JES2
being able to use the command
JCL being able to use Job, EXEC, DD parameters
being able to understand a conditional statement
being able to manage JCL
being able to analyze and execute JCL
being able to troubleshoot and resolve an abend
being able to use proclib, proc
being able to use the standard IBM utilities ( iebcopy, icegener, iceman, ...)
ISPF being able to use "menu" and utilities
being able to use the command line
File-transfer Use and troubleshoot FTP, sFTP, FTPS, … protocols
Use and troubleshoot Stonebranch (UCMD (Indesca), UDM (Infitran) & UEM,
USAP (SAP-(ABAP)-Control))
Scripting being able to write and debug Windows (BAT) and Linux shell scripts
(C-shell, Korn-shell, Bourne-shell)
Network Base knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- IP addressing & subnetting
- Base routing principles, VLANs
- Virtual IP addressing principle (VIP) & content switch usage
- DNS role
- Firewall principles
