We are looking for a senior system engineer to deploy and operate an air-gapped Google Cloud (GCA) platform across multiple data centers, fully remote.
Key must-haves:
GCA-specific: Google GCA infrastructure operator training (or equivalent) + at least one independent GCA deployment done per operator docs.
Deep infra experience: Kubernetes admin, Linux admin (PXE, systemd, containers, scripting), networking basics (VLANs, routing, DNS, TLS, packet tools), and hardware admin (iLO/OOB, cabling, NetApp storage, HSM, NTP, firewalls, switches).
Advanced networking: Cisco switch consoles, VXLAN/EVPN, VRFs, OSPF, BGP, LLDP.
Security/cloud tooling: PKI (OpenSSL, CA chains, CSRs), Istio/Envoy service mesh, Ansible, Prometheus, Cilium, Grafana/Loki, Kubernetes virtualization.
Process: Scrum and ITIL.
Scripting: Bash or Python.
German citizenship, willingness to undergo SÜ2 security screening, contract running 26.10.2026–31.12.2027.
Basically: a Kubernetes/Linux/networking heavyweight with hands-on air-gapped GCA deployment experience who can pass German security vetting.
