Data Centre Storage Architect/Engineer - Data Centres - HP 3PAR, NetApp.
This superb position is based in the wonderful city of Berlin Monday to Friday (occasionally in London). The position is with a very large global company.
The Storage Architect/Engineer designs and implements data centre storage and backup solutions, based on requirements for parts of the core infrastructure in two new data centres, or requirements arising from the migration of systems into the new data centres or deployment of new systems into the data centres. The main storage architectures are HP 3PAR (HP/Brocade SAN switching), iCAS archiving, NetApp, and Dataprotector-based backup to HP disk and tape libraries.
Key responsibilities and challenges
1 Storage Building Blocks: Designs and Engineers core storage and backup services.
Agrees network design elements for Security capabilities including Intrusion Detection, Firewalls, 3rd party VPN access.
2 Application migration solution design: Understands requirements from teams delivering new or migrated applications in to the new data centres, and advises on how to deliver the requirements within the storage and backup standards of the environment.
3 Implementation assistance: works with line organisation teams to implement designs and changes from the above.
