For a long-term project in the Manufacturing IT environment, we are looking for an experienced Solution Lead (m/f/d) to take responsibility for the overall solution strategy, service model and delivery approach for a global application portfolio.
The role combines Solution Architecture, Manufacturing IT, AMS/DevOps, SIAM and IT transformation and acts as a key interface between the customer, SIAM, delivery teams, technical architects and application owners.
Responsibilities:
- Define and govern the overall solution strategy, service model and delivery approach
- Lead solutioning across AMS, DevOps, transition and transformation
- Define target operating models, governance frameworks and service processes
- Provide architectural leadership across MES/MOM, SAP, enterprise applications, integrations and manufacturing platforms
- Drive application modernisation, automation, cloud adoption and operational excellence
- Support due diligence, transition planning, risk assessment and service-readiness activities
- Drive application rationalisation, standardisation and technology consolidation
- Manage senior stakeholders, vendors and globally distributed teams
Must-have skills:
- Strong Solution Architecture / Manufacturing IT background
- Experience with MES/MOM, SAP and enterprise applications
- Experience designing Target Operating Models and Service Architectures
- Strong knowledge of AMS, DevOps, ITIL and SIAM
- Experience with transition, transformation and governance
- Strong stakeholder and leadership skills
Good-to-have:
- Cloud transformation and integration architecture
- Application rationalisation / modernisation
- AIOps and observability
- GenAI-enabled delivery
- Automotive manufacturing experience
Project details:
- Start: October or November 2026
- Duration: 6+ months, long-term perspective
- Location: Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany
- Working model: Hybrid, approx. 3 days/week onsite
- Contract: Freelance
- Language: English required, German advantageous
- Rate: Up to €720/day
- Experience: 15+ years preferred
We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked as Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect, Manufacturing IT Lead, Application Portfolio Lead or AMS/Solution Lead in complex global environments.
