Senior Project Lead ‘Purchase-to-Pay’ 12MM remote

The vast majority of purchasing spend is attributable to service purchases comprising Research & Development services (e.g. Contract Research Organization services such as execution of clinical trials) as well as other services (e.g. scientific and business consulting).
We are looking for a senior individual combining excellent knowledge of best-in-class Purchase-to-Pay process design and project management skills with a key focus on project leadership.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
• Take over the overall Project Lead for the Purchase-to-Pay Optimization Project in close alignment with the core project team
• Manage stakeholders on various levels and set the organizational stage for successful project work
• Drive development of the new to-be process design for the purchasing stream together with the project core team and business departments
• Implement the new process design, including updating system configuration, testing, roll-out
• Create key documents over the project lifecycle such as Business Requirements, UAT Testing Documentation, Training Materials, Steering Committee documents, etc.
• Support in PMO tasks (not expected to be the primary task, however relevant experience and willingness to proactively support in PMO activities would be appreciated)

Required skills & experience:
Minimum 5-8(+) years of relevant experience with/in procure-to-pay related projects
Proactive mind-set and attitude: we are looking for a senior individual feeling comfortable taking over a “driver seat” role in the project organization which includes a high level of accountability & commitment to project success including “the extra mile”
Highly experienced in project management / project leadership including track record in stakeholder management, enforcing fast decisions, breaking silos, change management, …
Track Record / proven experience in the following areas is a key lever to the contribution to the overall project success:
• Linkage between Budget Approval / Purchase Request + Contract & PO Interplay
• Shopping Cart / Purchase Order Set-Up for various categories of contracts
• Exception Workflows at 2-/3-way matching for Indirect/Service Spend
• Invoice Approval Design for different scenarios
• Automated accruals reporting for Indirect Spend
• Experience in life science industry would be an asset; ability to reasonably adjust established concepts from other industries/large caps into a mid-sized environment with a focus on non-production orientated (indirect) spend is a crucial competence for this assignment
• Experience with SAP ByD would be fantastic, a sound knowledge of (SAP) ERP-systems and IT-supported business processes is essential
• Willingness and capability to ‘deep dive’ into SAP ByD (no development/source code level, but review of system configuration for shopping carts, POs, 3-way-matching, exception and approval workflows etc. in joint effort with IT department and system consultants) is crucial
• Efficiently communicate and manage various stakeholders (Purchasing & Logistics department, IT, Accounting, Controlling, Internal Controls, …)
• Business fluent in English (all documents to be furnished in English), German would be a plus
