Description

For a client in the Tech and Software industry, we are looking for an experienced Senior Platform Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong focus on AWS Serverless, Agentic coding (Claude), TypeScript/Node.js, DynamoDB, and Internal Developer Platforms.
We are looking for a hybrid Software Development and Infrastructure Engineer who can build internal developer platforms, enabling product teams to develop, deploy, and operate services efficiently. The focus is on hands-on engineering, AI-first development with Claude Code, and pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions.

Project Details:
  • Start: ASAP
  • Duration: 6 months, with possible extension
  • Workload: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Location: Remote, within European time zones (UK to Poland)
  • Language: Fluent English required, German is a plus
  • Contract: Freelance

Responsibilities
  • Build and enhance an Internal Developer Platform and developer tooling for product teams
  • Design and implement AWS Serverless architectures using Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, and Event Streaming
  • Hands-on development with TypeScript and Node.js, combined with infrastructure engineering
  • Develop self-service solutions and automation to improve developer experience and productivity
  • Evaluate existing platform tools and make informed build-vs-buy decisions
  • Apply AI-first development using Claude Code, including code review, testing, and quality assurance
  • Modernize and migrate existing services to AWS
  • Collaborate closely with Product Engineers and take end-to-end technical ownership

Requirements
  • Several years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Software Engineer, or Backend Engineer with strong hands-on development and infrastructure skills
  • Proven experience personally building internal developer platforms or developer tooling for other engineers, ideally with measurable improvements
  • Strong, recent hands-on experience with TypeScript, Node.js, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, and Serverless
  • Deep experience independently designing AWS Serverless architectures, not just deploying applications
  • Experience working in both startups and larger organizations, with end-to-end ownership
  • Daily hands-on use of Claude Code for AI-assisted software development, ideally with a very high proportion of AI-generated code
  • Strong understanding of the developer tooling landscape and experience making build-vs-buy decisions
  • Knowledge of AWS Security, IAM, Networking, and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
  • Fluent English and strong communication skills
  • Nice to have: Experience in modern Tech, SaaS, or Fintech companies, Monorepos, Cloud Migrations, and Open Source
