Senior C++ Software Engineer - Robotics Production Libraries (Contract)
Location: Remote / Hybrid (UK & Europe considered)
Contract: Initial 6 months + extension
Our customer is currently looking for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join a team developing production-grade robotics software libraries used within autonomous systems. We are looking for someone with a strong background in modern C++, robotics or autonomous systems, and experience building scalable, reusable software frameworks rather than end-user applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, develop and maintain production-quality C++ libraries and frameworks used across multiple robotics products and teams.
• Build reusable software components for localisation, perception, sensor fusion and autonomous system capabilities.
• Optimise software for performance, reliability and scalability in real-world production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define library architecture, APIs and integration strategies.
• Support testing, validation and deployment of software components across robotics platforms.
Required Experience & Skills:
• 5+ years of commercial C++ software engineering experience.
• Strong experience developing software libraries, SDKs, frameworks, middleware or platform-level software.
• Previous experience within robotics, autonomous systems, autonomous vehicles, ADAS or related domains.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design and high-performance systems.
• Experience with localisation, sensor fusion, perception, motion planning or real-time software is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Linux development environments and modern software engineering practices.
