We are looking for Senior Buyer to join our teamPurpose of the role:
Maximize value to the company and its customers of all assigned purchased parts, assemblies, subcontracts and services through the use of professional procurement practices and techniques; development and maintenance of long term, mutually beneficial supplier relationships, while continually improving the quality of material and services and the procurement process. Ensure the subsystem availability through the production and installation process while maintaining overall cost (and inventory, depending on allocation) at the lowest level and highest quality.
Manage complex competitive bidding processes with relevant technical aspects of parts / systems & commercial context, market conditions and other factors. Maintain daily contact with vendors and contractors during execution.
Participate in initial project or tender phase or in buying completely new material and evaluating risks.
Key responsibilities
Manage purchase contracts for projects & operation within scope
- Negotiate with suppliers and issue purchase orders or entire frame contract for dedicated projects
- Ensure material delivery and facilitate the execution of the purchase contract in coordination with the project team
- Analyse and monitor systems, subsystems and parts delivery to ensure coverage to meet project schedule.
- Execute purchasing strategy jointly with Operations or Project Team with regard to On-time-delivery
- Collaborate with other functions to ensure project success by representing Supply Management at meetings and work autonomously to resolve problems
- Assessing risk in the supply and align with Procurement Manager and Project Team on acceptable level of risk of the project and take it into consideration for the commercial negotiation with the supplier
- Lead or assist all negotiations with suppliers or sub-contractors with participation of the appropriate functions in the region
- Prepare sub-contract documentation, including tender and contract documents.
- Support major claim and /or Charge Back processes
Develop supplier performance
- Maintain fluent relationship with suppliers and contractors
- Expedite suppliers and contractors to ensure delivery of purchase parts on time.
- Negotiate and Administer terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Manage the changes in each subcontract or supply contract with the help of the Project Team.
- Analyse supplier risks
- Supports Commodity and Lead Buyers and the Procurement Network in negotiations, claims and visits to Suppliers upon relevance.
Manage material cost reduction activities
- Explore continuously material cost reduction opportunities
- Challenge the status-quo and find new and innovative ways to source material
Operational purchasing
- Adjust quantity and process technical modification of the order continuously
