Programme Manager - Quality Cost Reduction (Engineering)
Please note, this is not a purely finance role or an IT transformation role.
Our Germany-based engineering client is looking for an interim Programme Manager to drive a reduction of quality costs including long-term service and repair contracts and customer claims or penalties as a result of rectifying defects within a large-scale engineering environment.
Candidates must have experience gained at heavy engineering businesses (eg aerospace; rail; plant engineering; capital equipment) and must have extensive and specific expertise within the reduction of quality costs which should be evident in your CV.
The successful candidate will also be a transformation leader with strong project management, analytics and change management expertise alongside a mix of engineering and commercial procurement.
The role involves the following at a Leader level:
- Analysing quality costs and budget
- Designing and executing short-term programme to drive costs down including
- Managing supplier negotiations for lower component prices
- Managing supplier negotiations for external services providers
- Design inputs into retrofit solutions
- Supplier negotiations on potential claims
- Working with different departments to execute above changes, including Procurement, Service, and R&D
Knowledge of German would be helpful but not essential.
