This Role reports to Engineering Manager of the Program to work on all aspects of delivery on the ongoing / future vehicle programs.Should have approx. 10 to 15 years of working experience, must have previous experience of Auto OEM/Tier1 in component and system management with a demonstrable record of delivery of the accountabilities.Key Responsibilities
Lead a cross functional team to collectively deliver the whole vehicle specification targets.
• Define and achieve the technical scope for each system, ensuring it meets all legal requirements and project specification targets.
• Co-ordinate & manage the module team to ensure component and system level delivery.
• Define and achieve program timing, cost and weight targets.
• Drive the Engineering Change Management to achieve targets.
• Concept change agreement
• Supplier management – Manage each supplier with a cross functional team of Design, SQA, Quality Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Dimensional Management, Manufacturing and Service personnel to ensure complete PPAP is delivered for every component to support program timing.
• Next Generation Production Component - continually explore new technologies, materials and processes for responsible systems and maintain the component roadmap for future programs highlighting ways of enhancing the product offering.
• Escalation process Management.
• Presentproject reports to the business/management
• Guarantee of CoC Standards and Specifications.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
• B.S / M.S in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Rich Experience with systems of Automotive Interiors Engineeringsuch as IP, Centre Console, Doors. Boot, Roof, Pillar trims and floor carpets.
• Strong technical project management with proven leadership, evidence of decision making and accountability is essential.
• Good commercial awareness to maintain a focus on cost, profit, quality and risk.
• A strong track record of delivering designs to timing, weight and cost targets.
• Supplier management, implementing DFM requirements within the project scope.
• Understanding of the design, weight, cost and quality constraints of a variety of Body Interior materials and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of main interiors attributes and performances, previous development against FMVSS requirements preferred
• Industry exposure:Automotive – OEM, Tier-1 supplier would be preferred.
• Past industrialization / launch experience preferable
• Documentation of Technical Specifications, DFMEA, DVP, Timing Plans, Minutes and Actions of Meetings.
