Odoo Specialist — Freelance, ongoing collaboration
Remote within the EU | 20–40 h/month | 40–60 EUR/h
THE ENGAGEMENT
A long-term collaboration of 20–40 hours per month — not a one-off
project. You work largely asynchronously against a staging
environment. Client communication, requirements and German accounting
specifics stay with us. You work directly with the founder.
We are hiring along two tracks. Apply for either — or both, if that
is genuinely your profile.
TRACK A — FUNCTIONAL
- Multi-company setup: company hierarchies, inter-company flows,
what is shared versus separated, chart of accounts per entity,
consolidated reporting
- Configuration across Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Accounting,
Manufacturing, Project, Timesheets and POS
- Advising on the data model: what is configuration, what warrants a
custom module, what to leave alone
- Test scenarios and configuration documentation
TRACK B — TECHNICAL
- Custom module development from written specifications
- Record rules and access control across companies, including on
custom models
- Data migrations, version upgrades, API integrations
- Our Docker/Traefik stack on Hetzner: build times, image layering,
reverse proxy and TLS
- Repository hygiene, CI/CD, staging-to-production flow, tested
backup and restore
REQUIREMENTS
- Established in the EU. Firm requirement — our client agreements
rule out third-country data transfers.
- Odoo 17 or later, Community and Enterprise. All our work runs on
Odoo 19; earlier experience is fine, outdated practice is not.
- Track A: demonstrable multi-company implementation experience
- Track B: Python, XML, OWL, PostgreSQL; working knowledge of Docker,
Linux and reverse proxies
- Written English sufficient for asynchronous work
- Registered business and VAT ID (reverse charge invoicing)
DESIRABLE
- OCA contributions
- European localisation and accounting modules
- Odoo Website Builder and eCommerce — if so, send links to Odoo
sites or shops you built (other platforms are less relevant here)
HOW WE START
We build the collaboration in three stages, typically over four to
six weeks:
1. One paid trial assignment of four to eight hours on a live ticket.
2. If that works well, three to four further assignments, each scoped
and invoiced individually.
3. The full ongoing arrangement of 20–40 hours per month.
Every stage is paid at your normal rate. There is no unpaid test work
and no discounted probation period — the staged start simply lets both
sides commit with confidence.
RATE
40–60 EUR/hour depending on track and experience. Net, reverse
charge. Monthly invoicing, payment within 14 days.
