Project description:
Incident and problem handling for network issues within the Global Network Team and local IT administrators
Tasks:
Support of local administrators with network errors
Support of local administrators with network performance issues
Monitoring of network WAN errors and WAN bandwidth usage
WAN bandwidth capacity forecast including amount of planned/unplanned expansions
Timely procurement of WAN bandwidth
Coordinate actions (e.g. migration, changes, bandwidth upgrades) of local administrators, providers and vendors
Support global strategy design and process improvements based on operational experiences
Evaluate new connection types (e.g. MPLS, MAN, Dark Fiber) and connecting locations to the Group network
Calculate technical requirements for new network systems or expansions
Document administrative network tasks
Reporting of service quality, availability, usage and reliability of the WAN network infrastructure
Consulting of local IT-Responsible and end user regarding connecting locations and external partners to the Group WAN
Must-Have-Skills:
Fluent English skills (verbal and written)
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Intercultural knowledge
Basic networking know-how (e.g. CCNA level)
Know-how about routing protocols
Coordination experience
Collaboration with other teams and departments
Coordination of troubleshooting processes for complex problems in collaboration with different external vendors and internal interfaces.
