Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren,für unseren Kunden suchen wir aktuell einen Linux Server System Management Engineer (w/m).
Start: Dezember
Dauer: bis 31.12.2017
Ort: Raum Köln
Primary Tasks and responsibilities:
- Management and optimization of existing Linux server landscape
- 2nd and 3rd level Support (troubleshooting,performance tuning, incident and change management) of Linux Servers. Prepare and execute planned maintenance/upgrades (security patching, operating system and tool upgrades, ...)
- OS Preparation and Development for application anvironments (e.g. Oracle, SAP)
- Evaluate new hard- and Software
- Support customer to develop individual solutions
- Scoping of new projects and project Support (local and global)
- Cloud migration Support
Methodology / certification requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science OR equivalent through experience.
- Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred
- Additional certification is a plus.
Technical requirements:
- In depth technology knowledge of LINUX (RedHat,
SUSE)
- Security (Bastion enabling, DMZ, secure protocols)
- Performance issues, performance monitoring, planning and tuning in complex environments
- In depth technology knowledge of LDAP (Oracle LDAP, OpenLDAP)
- Experiences with RUNDECK and PUPPET (config management and automation)
- General understanding of SAP and ORACLE on LINUX
- Scripting language skills (Python or Perl, Shell)
- Technical writing skills to provide proper documentation according to internal and external regulations
Non-technical requirements
- Some flexibility in working hours is required (occasional work outside of normal working hours or weekend/holiday work)
- On-call permanency (standby) is possible
- Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
- Ability to identify and implement process and/or application improvements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision. Ability to work effectively under pressure
- Quick learner, motivated self-starter
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
- Able to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines. Able to work in a global team and in a multiple cultural environment.
