Our client, operating within an environment heavily reliant on Eclipse, Java, C++, and C technologies, seeks the expertise of a seasoned freelance (f/m/d) or interim specialist to oversee the implementation of the Bazel build tool.
Description
- Conduct a comprehensive analysis of the client's current development landscape, specifically focusing on Eclipse, Java, C++, and C technologies, to identify potential challenges and opportunities for Bazel integration
- Develop and execute a customized strategy for introducing Bazel into the client's environment, considering their unique requirements and objectives
- Configure Bazel to align seamlessly with the client's Eclipse-based projects and diverse programming languages, ensuring optimal compatibility and performance
- Deliver comprehensive training sessions and ongoing support to the client's development team, facilitating the adoption of Bazel and providing guidance on best practices
- Provide hands-on assistance during the implementation phase, offering expertise in troubleshooting and optimizing Bazel-based build processes
- Produce detailed documentation outlining the implementation process, along with recommendations for long-term maintenance and evolution of Bazel within the client's Eclipse-centric environment
Profile
- Proven track record in successfully implementing Bazel or equivalent build tools within Eclipse, Java, C++, and C environments
- In-depth understanding of build automation, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), and software development methodologies, particularly in relation to Eclipse-based projects and multiple programming languages
- Exceptional communication and training skills, capable of effectively conveying complex technical concepts and facilitating knowledge transfer within the client's team
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams, with a flexible approach to project timelines and potential onsite and remote work requirements
