Job Description:
Develop and test hydraulic systems and components for customer machines. Support or conduct test operations to verify functionality and conformance to system requirements. Oversee system hardware installation and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning accordingly. Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Investigate and identify root cause of system issues and difficulties, and make recommendations to system or component design engineers.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop and/or execute tests of new products and procedures collaboratively with hydraulic system and machine development engineers, hydraulic component engineers, or other system partners.
  • Analyze data with summary documentation of results.
  • Prepare in-depth studies for customers and present to high-level internal and external managers.
  • Prepare required project documentation.
  • Resolve hydraulic hardware and/or software problems.
  • Provide technical/troubleshooting support.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding capabilities, schedules, and other considerations to facilitate and improve processes.
  • Keep current, and continue education, on latest technology and techniques.
  • Advocate hydraulic system validation expectations and requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and installation of most product lines (including support level on some products).
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and design of mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as some complex operating systems.
SKILLS:

Required:
  • Bachelor degree in an accredited Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years firsthand hydraulic experience with product design and development process, including New Product Introduction and Continuous Product Improvement.
  • Self-starter with hydraulic technical skills and excellent analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and multiple projects.
  • Strong skills in problem solving, program management, communication, and customer relations are essential.
  • Exhibits ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in work group, as well as other business units, customers, and suppliers.
Desired:
  • Background experience working on farm equipment.
  • Work history in using data acquisition systems and data analysis.
  • Hydraulic design experience.
  • Experience working with global teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to focus on details and execution of activities.
  • Displays attributes of a critical thinker and leverages innovative ideas.
  • Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field.
