Requirements
You should have a comprehensive knowledge of user experience and in particular know-how about gathering and structuring information about users such as profiles and personas. The context of this work is to produce valuable information for user interface design and usability/ergonomics problematic. You should justify his or her skills by several years of training and proven experience in UI design, field research and/or ergonomics. A competence in ethnography or sociology will be greatly appreciated. Additionally, we expect you to be capable of conducting usability tests with end users.
We're asking for the following experience":
· At least 3 years of experience in user experience design and field research
· Working knowledge of ISO 9241 and WCAG 2.0 (optional)
· Previous experience working with personas
· Excellent English writing/speaking skills
· Knowledge of French and German (optional)
Work Description
1. Field/user research: Defining the different attributes of our internal users and producing adequate personas to be used in defining the design values and strategy, the design concept and the regular testing of design/ergonomics deliverables
(eg wireframes or prototypes). Documenting user research in a comprehensive way in order to support various project teams in their effort to build fit-for-purpose software application. Consider and structure information coming from different sources
(eg human resources, line management, application management, health related information).
Deliverables:
· Set(s) of personas defined with appropriate templates on the UI Toolbox (see below)
· Consolidation of background information about user profiles and specific attributes used to create
the personas on the UI Toolbox (see below)
· Method to deal with personas targeting project team managers and UI designers
2. Support and organise usability tests: Providing support in recruiting users for usability tests based on defined sets of personas and design values and strategies. Organise or support the organisation of in house usability tests. Either in the agile development context (short tests with small number of users - eg 5 - done very frequently) or in the traditional way (substantial tests with big number of users done as specific milestones of projects).
Deliverables:
· Recruitment of users for usability test in collaboration with Application Management Units
· Organisation and conduction of those tests in collaboration with software team
designers/ergonomists
Documentation of the test results
3. UI Knowledge management: Carry on developing the UI Toolbox (wiki confluence site containing the UI guidelines and other reference information) and associated web site (gallery of UI assets, common components, patterns and prototypes).
Deliverables:
· Document and update the different parts of the UI Toolbox
