Project description

We are looking for a freelance commissioning engineer (robotics & PLC) for a Swiss engineering client with an immediate project in Düsseldorf. The client is building a roster of local freelancers to support recurring commissioning assignments across Europe, starting with an on-site requirement in Düsseldorf and strong potential for follow-on projects.

Scope of work
  1. IO checks and PLC verification
  2. Cabling and signal checks, sensor configuration
  3. Conveyor parameterisation
  4. FANUC robot calibration (ABB also relevant)
  5. Vision system calibration support
  6. Manual and first-run checks from the HMI
  7. Troubleshooting during the first 1–2 weeks of operation
Requirements
  1. Hands-on PLC programming experience (B&R an advantage)
  2. FANUC robot experience essential (ABB beneficial)
  3. German and English (on-site work is German-speaking)
  4. Flexible and available for on-site project assignments at short notice
  5. Electrical engineering background and installation exposure are a plus
Key facts
  1. Location: Düsseldorf (on-site, no remote)
  2. Workload: full-time during project phases
  3. Duration: ~1 month per assignment (1-2 weeks commissioning + 1-2 weeks operational support)
  4. Start: immediate
  5. Extension / follow-on work: very likely building a long-term freelance roster
