Freelance Inbetriebnahme-Ingenieur / Forward Deployment Engineer: Robotik & SPS (FANUC) | DACH

THRYVE are looking for commissioning engineers with FANUC robotics experience on behalf of a growing engineering client running industrial automation projects across Germany and Europe. The client is building a reliable freelance pool for recurring deployments. This is not a single vacancy but an ongoing engagement model.

Responsibilities
  1. On-site commissioning of FANUC robotic systems at customer facilities
  2. IO checks, signal verification and sensor configuration
  3. Wiring and control cabinet verification
  4. PLC verification and parameterisation (B&R, Siemens or equivalent)
  5. Calibration and first-run testing via HMI
  6. Customer support during initial production ramp-up (typically 1–2 weeks post-go-live)
  7. Fault analysis and troubleshooting under project time pressure
  8. Technical documentation and customer handover
Requirements

Essential:
  1. FANUC robot programming, proven hands-on experience (ROBOGUIDE advantageous)
  2. Commissioning experience on complex automation systems
  3. PLC knowledge (B&R, Siemens S7/TIA Portal or equivalent)
  4. Willingness to deploy on short notice across Germany and Europe
  5. Self-directed working style under project pressure
  6. German and English (project comms run in both languages)
Highly desirable:
  1. ABB robotics (RAPID) as additional qualification
  2. Vision system / camera calibration experience
  3. Electrical or mechatronic background
  4. Automotive, logistics, or manufacturing automation experience
  5. CMSE certification or equivalent safety qualification (not essential)
Key Details
  1. Location: Primarily Germany (NRW, Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg) European deployments possible
  2. Remote: On-site only
  3. Engagement length: Typically 2–8 weeks per project with repeat deployments
  4. Availability: Short-notice preferred (2 weeks lead time ideal)
  5. Duration model: Ongoing pool, repeat engagements with established clients
