green and reliable energy infrastructure. The company is seeking freelancers to work remotely and
locally on various national and international projects. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge
of French or Dutch is an advantage.
Main tasks:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced system engineer with a deep expertise in
on-prem and on-line flavours of Microsoft Exchange. As part of the product line Digital
Enhancement, the candidate will join the product team Digital Workplace Collaboration.
In this role, you will be responsible for proposing a migration plan of MS Exchange, set-up for
multiple domains, from the on-premises to the online execution environment. This migration plan
may be hybrid due to blackout-proof use cases. On a day-to-day basis, you will manage, support,
optimize and prepare the different execution environments of MS Exchange, ensuring high levels of
availability and security of service.
The candidate will work closely with the product owner and the product team members. Concretely
s/he will be a member of a Scrum team that builds, governs, and supports group wide solutions.
Responsibilities:
Before and during migration:
• Analyzing and documenting the current on-prem solutions (2 different environments in 2
domains), propose a migration plan and test / demonstrate the “To Be” solution, including
all third-party solution implemented (or equivalent).
• Execute the migration plan.
After migration:
• Manage and monitor on day-to-day basis all installed Exchange systems and infrastructure
for both on-premises and cloud.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain Exchange on-premises and cloud environments,
application software, and system management tools.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible
solutions, and work with the product teams to implement them.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies (where needed).
• Provide 2
nd and 3
rd level support.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for
system administration and appropriate use.
• Train the rest of the product team to support the solution.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Requirements:
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft
Exchange on-premises and cloud-based environments.
• Proven experience of MS Exchange environment migration (on-prem to cloud) in a multi
domains setup.
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud technologies, in particular Microsoft solutions.
• Knowledge and Expertise with MailMarshall Spam console, Zertificon mail encryption
solution or equivalent.
• Solid Experience with conditional access management, and app protection.
• Experience with monitoring systems.
• Solid scripting and PowerShell skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of German, French, or Dutch is considered
an asset.
• Knowledge in AD, Azure AD and M365 in general is a big plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or
equivalent work experience.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications would be advantageous.
