Job Description:
We are seeking a senior DevOps Coach to enhance our Data Platform's DevOps strategies and operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth operation of our Tribe’s CI/CD pipelines, assisting squads with releasing changes to various environments, and maintaining and evolving the Tribe DevOps strategy and roadmap through stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure the CI/CD pipelines are operational and support squads in deploying changes across different environments.
• Create, review, maintain, and evolve the Tribe’s DevOps strategy and roadmap by connecting with stakeholders.
• Conduct PoCs/Pilots for solutions and develop or coordinate with stakeholders to implement new or enhanced DevOps solutions for the Data Platform.
• Coach and mentor squads to adhere to new DevOps standards.
• Document best practices, user manuals, and technical setups.
• Perform or support Tribe release activities as a backup to the Tribe Release Engineer (TRE).
Required Soft Skills:
• Excellent command of both oral and written English.
• Ability to tailor presentations to audiences ranging from very technical engineers to management level.
• Agile mindset, team player, eager to share knowledge, learn quickly, and adapt to new challenges.
• Openness to giving and receiving constructive feedback and inspiring others accordingly.
Required Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of DevOps with a deep understanding of coding languages.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and IT Architecture across Infrastructure, Platform, and Application layers; exposure to Data platforms and Big Data is preferred.
• Understanding of emerging technologies in DevOps and Cloud such as Observability, Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)/Test-Driven Development (TDD), Test Automation, and Containerization (K2s); hands-on experience in these areas is a plus.
• Familiarity with product/software release standards and processes.
Hands-on Experience Required:
• Languages: Python & Groovy (Advanced), Unix (Basic)
• Tools & Technology: Jenkins, Ansible, Sonar, Git (Expert), Release Orchestration (Advanced), Kibana, Docker/K2s (Basic)
• Exposure to Big Data technologies is a nice-to-have
