Desktop Services Specialist

Contract - 3 months
Purpose of the Role:
Technical support for internal customers
Maintenance and administration of the IT environment
Technical analysis and implementation of IT solutions
Responsibilities:
1. Hardware Support:
a. PC installation, configuration and setup
b. Technical support for Desktop- and Laptop-PCs like emergency maintenance, implementation of hardware enhancements
c. Implementation, maintenance and removal of peripheral devices like printer, scanner etc.
d. Coordination external technical support, eg vendor support or other technical consultancy
e. User support and training
2. Standard Software Support:
a. Software installation
b. Evaluation and selection of standard software solutions according to business requirements
c. Planning and execution of standard software upgrades and migrations
d. Administration of local applications (ie HR and Finance systems)
3. Administration of the European Microsoft Windows Desktop-PC environment:
a. Team work with other global or local support units
b. Administration of security solutions like encryption tools
c. Implementation and enforcement of global standards
d. Assistance for Video Conference Services
e. PC configuration to connect to the network
f. Patch management for network outlets
g. Office Movements (entire facility moves to a new location)
4. Administration
a. IT asset management (procurement, maintenance, disposal of IT related assets)
b. User rights management
c. Documentation
d. Reporting
e. Compliance to standard IT procedures
Key Qualifications Required/Pre-requisites
Apprenticeship: qualified IT specialist, system integration
Technical Skills
Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server Operating Systems - Windows 7, 10
Understanding Microsoft Active Directory and GPO
Microsoft Office Standard Software Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Vision, Project, Publisher)
SCCM knowledge (basic)
Understanding basic network technologies and protocols
Soft Skills
English skills in speech and writing
Advanced communication skills
