We are looking for Network Engineers to support customer-facing network services delivered on public cloud infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in networking, combined with practical experience of at least one public cloud platform. Expertise across every cloud provider or technology is not expected. Engineers with solid technical fundamentals and a willingness to learn will be supported in developing their knowledge of our specific services, technologies and operational processes.
Candidates should have practical experience in networking and cloud infrastructure, with the ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues and support production services.
A good working knowledge of several of the following areas is required:
- TCP/IP and IP networking
- Routing and switching
- VPN technologies and troubleshooting
- Firewalls and network security
- Load balancing
- DNS
- Network troubleshooting and fault isolation
Candidates should be comfortable investigating connectivity issues, analysing network traffic flows and identifying the underlying causes of network problems.
Practical experience with at least one major public cloud platform, such as the following, is required:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Alibaba Cloud
Candidates should have a basic understanding of cloud networking concepts, including:
- Virtual networks and Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs)
- Subnets
- Routing
- Security groups and network access control lists (ACLs)
- VPNs and private connectivity
- Cloud load balancers
- Cloud firewalls
- Investigating and troubleshooting customer-impacting incidents
- Following operational procedures and runbooks
- Collaborating with engineering and support teams to resolve issues
- Documenting technical findings, investigations and actions taken
- Recognising when to escalate complex issues
- Working within incident, change and problem management processes
- Experience supporting production or customer-facing environments is highly desirable.
- Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) protection services
- Infrastructure automation
- REST APIs and API-based integrations
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Python or other scripting languages
- Monitoring and observability tools
