Role: Cloud Network Expert
Location: Essen, Germany
Type of Contract: Freelance Contract

Duration of Project: 6 months

Responsibilities:
• design, conception and implementation of AWS, Azure (and other) cloud network services
within the RWE group-wide IT department (Service lifecycle, guidelines, policies and
standards)
• definition and further development of guidelines for (network) infrastructure solutions and
technical standards
• support in setting up AWS, Azure (and other) cloud network related processes/workflows
within RWE group-wide IT department
• definition and implementation of automated interfaces (python, or similar) to third-party tools
(tufin, Infoblox)
• identification of requirements and implementation of 3
rd party vendor security devices and
measures
• proactive working within the team to define, develop and transfer of services in projects to
daily business and operations
• maintaining and support the existing international infrastructure and services
• be responsible for definition, further development and evaluation of new industrial standards
of services
• provide assistance, guidance and support to/for network operation team on daily operations
• assistance with evaluation, selection and steering of suppliers
• close cooperation within IPM to design and implement systems / components

Required Experience:

• excellent knowledge in development, design and operation of cloud infrastructure services
• thinking creatively ‘outside the box’ to deliver innovative and cost effective solutions and
designs that work end-to-end and can be adapted as required
• experience in design and concepts of AWS, Azure (and other) cloud networks and
infrastructure services
• experience with network security devices (such as 3
rd party firewalls, network accelerators,
internet proxies, reverse proxies/load balancers, …)
• experience in scripting languages (such as python) in order to establish interfaces to
existing 3rd party tooly
• experience of managing various and conflicting business demands
• experience in similar position with technical certifications or knowledge and at least 5 years
of professional experience as cloud network expert or equivalent
• knowledge and experience in project management and customer communications
• fluent in English and German and willingness to travel
