Cloud Application Engineer
Tasks
Consulting and support in the conception, construction and operation of IT systems based on modern private and public cloud solutions with the main focus:
Support for the implementation of a technical architecture in a cloud environment
Environments in Openstack Tenants or AWS VPCs
Create scripts (such as terraform, heat, cloud formation, cookbooks) for automated environment setup and integrate into the Configuration Management Tool
Implementation of PoCs to determine the suitability of technology compo- nents for the Volkswagen Group IT Cloud
Execution of test set-ups for the clarification of project spec. issues
Introduction of up-to-date software development techniques and tools (such as continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines, test automation, zero downtime deployment process) in the context of cloud projects
Establish operational processes and services for cloud applications (for example, auto-scaling, life cycle and patch management, monitoring and logging, secrets management)
Expertise
Knowledge in the use of cloud computing services (OpenStack, Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, GCE ...)
Knowledge of the use of modern technologies in cloud environments (Container/Docker, Kubernetes, Consul, Zookeeper, Kafka, ELK, ...)
Experience with MySQL and NoSQL DBs (eg, Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis)
Knowledge in software development and current software architecture trends and technologies (eg, Microservices, 12-Fator Apps, Continuous De-livery)
Knowledge of current web software frameworks (eg HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, REST, JSON, Responsive Layout, AngularJS2, Spring.boot, Hystrix, rxJava, jakson)
Experience with tools and processes for the automated provisioning of systems in the cloud computing environment and with Infrastructure as Code Me- thodes & Tools
Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Build and Configura- tion Management, Source Code, Artifact management (eg, Bamboo, Ansible, Puppet, Bitbucket, Git, Artifactory) tools
Experience with agile development methods (Scrum, Kanban, ...)
