Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Developer.The objective is to define an architecture which allows for automated scaling in order to cope with increase of database volume, number of datasets, database requests and volume of daily data deliveries.
To achieve that, in a first phase architectural options shall be assessed and a target option will be selected.
In a second phase, this target option will be implemented for production use.
The productive solution shall be able to integrate in an environment consisting of virtual machines, which are set up, configured, deployed and orchestrated automatically. Configuration data shall be hosted in central repositories and databases wherever possible (Respective tools include LDAP, Git/SVN, etc; Setup will be done using Puppet/Chef; Testing will be based on Cucumber).
Provisioning of the environment is part of another task and thus not in scope.
The candidate should have the following skill set:
- Experience with productive Linux systems, preferably in the area of business intelligence or data analytics (Target platform is RHEL)
- Experience in setting up and working with virtual machines
- Excellent understanding of unixoid operating systems
- Understanding of automated configuration and deployment paradigms
- Ability to work independent as part of an agile project
- Ability to communicate written and verbally in English
- Strong background in database technology and development
- Strong background in business intelligence and data analytics
- Working experience with SAP BOE
- Working experience with SAP BODI
- Understanding and preferrably working experience with column based databases
- Excellent knowlegde and Production experience with data bases, Postgres and MySQL
- Productin experience with scripting for related databases
- Deep understanding and production experience with clustering and load balancing concepts and tools for relevant databases
- Experience with Hadoop stack, in specific HDFS, Hive, Zookeeper and related tools
- Experience with NoSQL databases, preferrably Hbase and/or Cassandra, perferrably in production use
- Excellent understanding and production experience of Java programming language
