We are looking for an experienced AEM Architect to translate business requirements into detailed technical solutions and guide their implementation through to production. This hands-on leadership role combines architectural design, low-level specifications, technical governance and mentoring.

Responsibilities
  • Create detailed Low-Level Design Documents (LLDs), specifying Sling Model logic, JSON output structures, component dialog requirements and API contracts for frontend consumption.
  • Break down large features into actionable Jira tickets with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to align technical solutions with business requirements.
  • Design the overall system architecture, including content models, workflows and integrations with CRM, Commerce and DAM systems.
  • Develop proof of concepts, complex OSGi services and core frameworks.
  • Proactively investigate the codebase to identify technical debt, API bottlenecks and delivery risks.
  • Define and enforce AEM development standards through code reviews and security audits.
  • Improve performance through Dispatcher/CDN caching strategies, query optimization and prevention of Java memory leaks.
  • Verify solutions in staging, oversee performance testing and ensure existing functionality remains intact.
  • Mentor senior and mid-level developers through code reviews and pair programming.
  • Resolve complex issues across AEM, Dispatcher, CDN and integrated APIs.
Required qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 5 years as an AEM Architect or Lead Developer.
  • Expert Java/J2EE knowledge within the OSGi context, including thread safety, singleton handling and memory leak analysis using heap dumps.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AEM as a Cloud Service, OSGi, Apache Sling, JCR/Oak and Dispatcher.
  • Proven experience designing robust, fault-tolerant integrations with third-party systems using REST/JSON APIs.
  • Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines in Adobe Cloud Manager or Jenkins.
  • Strong ownership of solutions throughout the lifecycle, from design and implementation to production.
Technical stack
AEM as a Cloud Service, Java, OSGi R7+, Apache Sling, JCR/Oak, Dispatcher, CDN caching (Fastly/CloudFront), REST/SOAP integrations, Maven, Git Flow and CI/CD.

Preferred qualifications
  • Adobe Certified Master – Architect certification.
  • Experience designing headless CMS architectures using GraphQL and Content Fragments.
  • Experience migrating legacy on-premise AEM instances to AEM as a Cloud Service.
