Principal Software Architect / Backend Engineer

I help companies build software that is reliable, scalable, and easy to maintain. Over the past 10+ years, I’ve worked with everything from small startups to DAX40 enterprises, designing and delivering systems that hold up under real-world demands. My background is in backend engineering and cloud architecture, but I’ve always combined technical depth with a practical, results-driven mindset.

Today, I lead NSH Digital as Co-Founder and CTO, where my team and I support clients in building platforms that run smoothly across markets and can handle millions of users. I guide multiple teams, shape the architecture, and still stay hands-on with development when it matters. Before that, I spent several years at Reply SE as a Principal Software Architect and Tech Lead, working with clients in industries like healthtech, insurance, and e-commerce.
What I bring to the table is the ability to take a complex idea and turn it into a system that is stable, secure, and scalable. I specialize in:

Some examples of my work: I designed the backend and infrastructure for PamApp, a fitness app that reached #1 on the App Store and scaled to 3M+ monthly active users. I led the architecture for Europ Assistance’s B2C/B2B2C platform, taking it from zero to a fully functional product with a small team. I’ve also worked on data replication with Kafka at scale and built the technical foundation for fitness platforms used globally.

I studied Computer Science with a focus on distributed systems and machine learning, and I’ve been lucky to combine that academic background with hands-on product building. Over the years, I’ve also supported startups with business strategy and product direction, so I understand both the technical and business side of getting a product to market.
