Berlin-based software architect & Rust engineer. Co-founded Seismiq GmbH (edge+AI earthquake sensors). A decade in Python, Rust for 6 years. I design and ship systems end to end — cloud architecture to backends, down to embedded. Security-first, automation-driven. I bring your MVP to production.

Hi,
I'm a Berlin-based software engineer working both locally and remotely. During my PhD I built strong big-data analytics experience with TensorFlow and Keras, analysing large datasets with high precision and speed.
In 2018, I co-founded seismiq GmbH and lead the development of a new sensor system for earthquake preparedness, combining edge computing and AI.
Python was my primary language for over a decade before I moved to Rust about six years ago. Since then I've built deep expertise across the ecosystem — tokio, serde, thiserror, tracing, tauri, chrono, and more — and developed embedded Rust applications for ARM Cortex, ESP32, and RP2040. Working that close to the metal sharpened my grasp of Rust's core strengths: borrowing, lifetimes, and writing efficient code for highly resource-constrained hardware.
I care about clean, maintainable code, treat security as a first-class concern, and automate as much of the development lifecycle as I can. I also bring strong DevOps experience. Since the rise of LLMs, I use Claude Code to work faster while my experience lets me steer architecture and make sound design decisions.
I'd love to chat. Let's get in touch.

Projekthistorie
As engineering lead, I drove the design, implementation, and testing of an extensible sensor platform spanning both hardware and software — including a scalable Rust/Python backend and a web frontend. From the outset I established a high level of CI/CD automation and infrastructure as code (Ansible), which paved the way for very short development and release cycles.
- Embedded Linux & embedded Rust for IoT devices (Yocto)
- Extensive deployment automation with GitLab CI, Ansible & Docker
- Full-stack development across Rust, Python, and Vue.js
- Infrastructure monitoring with Grafana & InfluxDB
- Rust backend development
- Svelte frontend
- AWS infrastructure extension and maintenance
I developed a rust backend and desktop application using tauri and
svelte for efficient, user-friendly testing of laser controllers. The chosen
combination of tauri and svelte allowed to deliver a fully functional UI
with blazing fast backend that asynchronously (tokio) manages large
laser arrays and analyses recorded data.

- Tokio async runtime
- Postgresql for persistance
- Sea-Orm for database handling (postgres)
- Svelte + tailwindcss (UI)
