I acted as an infrastructure Consultant, Automation Engineer and python expert during the creation of a Data Mesh platform for various internal teams, from assembly line monitoring to route recommendations. I worked closely with, and learned from, Data Mesh and Data Engineering experts in developing the platform itself while also owning the first Data Products to go live on it. The Data Mesh platform enabled internal development teams to own their data analytics, which increased data literacy and the ability to gain valuable insights inside and across teams with reduced reliance on dedicated data teams.

Cryptography Platform Development

This project saw the design and development of a service-oriented cryptographic middleware platform, which served dozens of internal development teams in order to guarantee that cryptographic operations are performed correctly, consistently, and compliant with regulatory and auditing requirements. Here, I gained significant experience in the long-term maintenance of a constantly growing project, scaling from a small group of four developers to a large project spanning four teams in five countries. In this project, I also gathered first experiences in a formal tech leadership role.

Data Platform Development

In this distributed team (involving team members from the US, Germany and India), I helped to build a Data Platform for internal client teams. On the basis of Pulumi and Azure, the team created a self-service API for Azure resource provisioning. The work included significant end user contact for requirements gathering and support while leaning heavily into distributed team building efforts.

Developer Dashboard Inception

I worked in a cross-functional two-person team to develop a proof of concept for a Developer Dashboard. The team ran inception workshops and applied product thinking techniques to define their MVP, then delivered it in an extensible way, using a serverless architecture in the backend and a frontend embedded into a pre-existing microfrontend solution.

Data Management and Analytics - Student Research Assistant

In this art project, I supported the development and deployment of a network of heterogeneous devices with sensors and actuators to feed real-world data of a changing landscape into an AR-application. After the initial development, I acted as the sole caretaker for the hard- and software that was physically deployed into a natural environment. I also supported the reworking of parts of this work at other exhibitions in 2021 and 2024.
