05.2020 – 12.2024 | Workload: 65 % | Customer: DB InfraGO, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn
Project: iTraiN (interaktive Trassenkonstruktion im Netzfahrplan)
iTrain is a web application that provides train constructors (timetable planners) with a seamless interface for submitting and visualizing train routing and scheduling requests. The application augments these requests for the optimization engine, visualizes the engine's results, and ultimately transfers the calculated plan to the production booking system. As a full-stack developer, I developed the REST-API backend using Django and Django Rest Framework, as well as the frontend using Angular, RxJS, and Angular Material. I implemented various UIs and endpoints for data ingestion, processing, retrieval, and visualization. I led the implementation of security measures, real-time content updates via WebSocket communication, and user authentication. Additionally, I configured the app in Microsoft Entra and implemented single sign-on (SSO) authentication using OAuth2/OIDC.
Technologies: Python, Django, Django ORM, Django-Rest-Framework, TypeScript/JavaScript, Angular, Angular Material, HTML, CSS, RxJS, pytest, Cypress, PostgreSQL, REST APIs, WebSocket, OAuth 2/OIDC, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, Gitlab

05.2020 – 12.2024 | Workload: 35 % | Customer: DB InfraGO, a subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn
Project: AFK (Automatische Fahrplankonstruktion)
The AFK is an engine designed to calculate optimized train routes and schedules, considering infrastructure, time, and traffic constraints. As an algorithms developer, I enhanced the results by implementing and modifying several components of the engine. The primary programming tasks were carried out in C++, while I occasionally modified Java microservices to provide necessary input data.
